nostalgia is a dangerous thing..
..strange then why there's a sudden re-emergence of nostalgia driven products resurfacing on the market then..
just take a look at everyone's most beloved 80s cartoon The Transformers..
there's a whole bunch of new toys and the ongoing Galaxy Force series currently airing in jpn..which naturally means there're entire lines of new toys demanding the current consumer's hard stolen cash..
the new toys are pretty solid..leagues better than the cheap plastic garbage we used to fill our toyboxes with over 10 years ago..
ironically..the very same 'cheap plastic garbage' has collectors reaching deep into their pockets trying to own them..all in the holy name of nostalgia..
c'mon...logically those old toys were poorly made and often had parts falling out 15 minutes after taking them out of their boxes..usually due to careless preteen tendencies..and lets not forget 99% of those toys didn't even come close to emulating the flexibility of their screen counterparts instead serving better as static display pieces which totally went against the golden rule of toy owning: which was to have bloody fun with em'..
yet people are now paying up to 1000% of what these toys used to retail for...the same cheap plastic (usually pathetic) looking models...all in the name of nostalgia..
ok so the point of this entire rant was to tell everyone that the author paid an undisclosed amount of cash to make this next procurement...

yep..it ain't a reissue like the G-1 Optimus i got a few months back but the honest to goodness 80s version that stood on the Yaohan shelves along with TMNT and GI Joe back then..
the more appreciative individuals with a more robust childhood should be able to relate to the joy of owning this classic =)
