My involvement in this year's MINDEF (no) PRIDE Day has recently rekindled my interest in website design & management. Playing the role of webmanager has accorded me various side benefits that have inadvertently spawned within me an unhealthy interest in pull-down menus and interactive Flash animations. Yes, once again the Armed Forces have relinquished before me the necessary tools to not only pursue something puerile yet interesting, but this time to concurrently get paid for it, all on gahmen time
You may have previously seen my
virgin attempt at creating my personal online repository of rants & insightful editorials during my student attachment stint with the Armed Forces. Perusing through the old pages now I'm still appalled I managed to come up with a functional website knowing absolutely nothing about website design & creation. True, the material within isn't stuff of literary genius, but I'd venture to lay claim that the content provides for much more entertaining reading than 90% of those personal free domain websites, low brow humor notwithstanding
Being the MPD webmanager has once again brought about the unholy union between Myself & Dreamweaver. For the uninitiated, Dreamweaver is the Maximizer of website design. It allows even the most amateur noobs to create designs that give the impression that they know damn well what they're doing, all without the aid of alcohol. Furthermore, I've stabbed myself in the chest yet again, this time with another ECA as the Unit webmaster. This virtually guarantees me my continual tempestous relationship with Dreamweaver long after MINDEF no PRIDE Day is over.
Naturally, a girl wearing a Maximizer hardly helps anything if she's ugly to begin with. Dreamweaver may let me create the most fanciful feature laden webpages in the universe but without solid content to lace it with, its as good as being trapped on an island with a bevy of Playmates...except I'm gay. So before I accost Dreamweaver to do my dirty work, I'd really need to come up with something that's tangible & sustainable in the long run.
Frankly though..I've absolutely no inkling even where to begin..
GOT SOMETHING TO SAY??
